ANKARA, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) — Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and visiting Ukrainian counterpart Andrii Sybiha vowed here on Monday to advance the partnership between the two countries.
“Ties between Türkiye and Ukraine continue to grow … Our multi-dimensional cooperation is advancing day by day,” a video posted by Fidan on social media platform X showed him making the remarks at a joint press conference following his meeting with Sybiha.
Fidan also reaffirmed Türkiye’s willingness to contribute to peace efforts on the Ukraine crisis.
In the video, Sybiha said the two countries “aim to build a secure and strong relationship based on mutual interests,” and stressed the importance of bilateral cooperation in the defense industry.
Sybiha later published a post on X, saying, “We discussed advancing our strategic partnership,” among other topics.
Sybiha was appointed Ukraine’s new foreign minister in early September during a cabinet reshuffle. ■
